Hormone & Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Service description

Hormone balance plays a vital role in overall health, energy, and quality of life. Our
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) services are designed to support both women
and men experiencing the effects of hormonal changes that come with age.

For women, HRT is the most effective treatment for relieving hot flashes, night sweats,
vaginal dryness, and mood or sleep disturbances associated with perimenopause and
menopause.

For men, TRT can help improve energy, strength,
focus, mood, and sexual health that may decline with age-related testosterone
deficiency.

Each treatment plan is carefully personalized based on your unique needs, lab results,
and health goals. By restoring hormonal balance, HRT not only helps reduce
uncomfortable symptoms but can also support long-term wellness, including bone,
brain, and heart health.

Our approach is evidence-based, safe, and tailored to help you feel and function at your
best.

general questions or concerns during your initial treatment period.

includes a DUTCH urine test shipped directly to your home, followed by a
detailed review of your results. You’ll receive both holistic and HRT-based
recommendations, your first 90-day supply of medication (if appropriate), and a 3‑month follow-up visit included.

03

Meet Virtually for Your Consultation

Ongoing Care and Refills

Follow-up visits are required for prescription refills. These visits allow us to monitor your
progress, review labs, and adjust your treatment plan to ensure optimal results. Most
patients benefit from follow-up every 2–3 months.

Recommendations

For best outcomes, we encourage patients to commit to at least
6–12 months of therapy with regular monitoring, as hormone balance and symptom
relief improve progressively over time.

HRT FAQs

Is Hormone Replacement Therapy Safe?

Concerns about the safety of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) first surfaced in 2002, when
findings from the Women’s Health Initiative suggested a possible increase in breast cancer and
heart disease risk. Understandably, this led many women to discontinue treatment and many
providers to stop prescribing it altogether.

However, those results are now considered outdated and have been reinterpreted with more
accurate context. In the years since, extensive research has shown that when HRT is started
within 10 years of menopause, it not only provides meaningful relief from hot flashes, night
sweats, and other symptoms, but may also lower the risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular
disease. Current medical guidelines now recognize HRT as a safe and effective option for many
women.

Who can benefit from HRT?

Women experiencing menopause or perimenopause symptoms such as hot flashes, night
sweats, mood changes, vaginal dryness, or sleep disturbances.

How is the need for HRT determined?

Through a review of symptoms, medical history, and lab tests when needed.

What are the benefits?

HRT can reduce hot flashes and night sweats, improve sleep and mood, relieve vaginal
dryness, and support bone and heart health.

Are there side effects?

Some women may experience breast tenderness, bloating, or mild mood changes. Regular
monitoring helps manage risks.

How is it given?

HRT can be delivered via pills, patches, gels, creams, or vaginal products—your provider will
recommend the best option for you.

When will I notice results?

Many women see improvements in hot flashes and sleep within weeks; mood and energy
improvements may take a few months.

TRT FAQs

Is testosterone therapy safe?

When monitored by a qualified healthcare provider, TRT is generally safe. Regular lab testing
and follow-up visits help ensure proper dosing and minimize risks.

Who can benefit from TRT?

Men experiencing low testosterone symptoms—such as fatigue, reduced libido, decreased
muscle mass, mood changes, or difficulty concentrating—may benefit from therapy.

How is low testosterone diagnosed?

A diagnosis is made through a combination of symptom assessment and blood tests measuring
total and free testosterone levels, usually on multiple occasions.

What are the benefits of TRT?

TRT can improve energy, mood, sexual function, muscle strength, bone density, and overall
quality of life.

Are there risks or side effects?

Potential side effects can include changes in red blood cell count, acne, or fluid retention.
Regular monitoring helps detect and manage these issues early.

Is this program covered by insurance

Our functional medicine services are not covered by insurance. However, many patients are able to use HSA and FSA accounts to cover the cost of care. We recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm your eligibility.

How is TRT administered?

Testosterone can be delivered via injections, gels, creams, or patches—your provider will
recommend the method best suited to your lifestyle and needs.

How soon will I notice results?

Some improvements, such as energy and mood, may be noticeable within a few weeks, while
changes in muscle mass and strength typically take several months.
